About the CHE Advising Center
Academic Advising is an integral part of the Center for Human Enrichment. Our primary goal is to support students' academic and personal success throughout their undergraduate career at the University of Northern Colorado. This is accomplished through a variety of services:
- Registering students in a thematically-linked English curriculum that maintains a low student-teacher ratio.
- Providing individual course recommendations.
- Administering and assessing the College Student Inventory, then using it to develop an individual success plan for every CHE student.
- Supporting the students as they adjust to the University environment and maintaining this support throughout the students' undergraduate career.
If you would like further information about the CHE Advising Center, please feel free to come in at your convenience or call us at 970-351-1905. The staff is happy to answer any questions you may have.
A Holistic Approach to Advising
The Academic Advising Center uses a holistic, all-encompassing approach to support students' success at UNC. What this means for the students is assistance in the areas of academics, financial aid, residence life, and in the career-decision process. CHE advisors also provide information to students that may include campus-wide activities and events, student organizations and resources.
Individual Success Plans
The Academic Advising staff develops Individual Success Plans (ISP) for all students in the CHE program. The ISP is designed to aid the student academically and personally, as well as to facilitate extracurricular and career goals. Each Individual Success Plan is tailored to the specific needs of the student.
